I’m Iya Forbes and I take pictures.
18 years of age but with a 10-year old mind
wanting to explore the world. I live happily
in sunny and rainy Metro Manila, Philippines.
I also bike, read, and fangirl a lot.

All photos are by me, unless noted in the post.
Please don't steal my photos!

I will always love Metro Manila, no matter how chaotically ‘third world’ it may seem.

Because everyone likes ‘before & after’ photos, right? Maybe it’s just me, then.
Mum and I both got so fat! HAHA!
Also, check out my striped shirt, rolled up pants and bulky black shoes. It was a coincidence that I wore something so similar to my 1996 get-up! Does this mean I still have the fashion sense of a 3-year old? Damn.

Philippines - Manila - Awfully Disappointing | Travel Blog

botherjoseph:

I honestly do really HATE to write negative posts. If you check through this blog you’ll see that even the posts on Afghanistan have a few positive things to say…….

But my GOODNESS the Philippines!!! Or more precisely Manila, because you cannot and should not generalize about such a large country spread over thousands of islands. Manila - what a dump!

The city has got to be the disgrace of South-east Asia, all the more so because twenty years ago when I used to come through here en route to Papua New Guinea it was THE place in the region to come to for shopping and R&R. How the mighty are fallen!

The truth is the most difficult thing to swallow. And I have to say that anyone who hates this article is too proud to see the truth.

I love this country. I photograph it constantly. But I also know that my sliver of experience is not the whole picture. This is the whole picture, and the question is now, now what?

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She’s not perfect - you aren’t either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart. So don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there."
